Transfer factor: Long-awaited next step in immunotherapy>
DVM Magazine

"A 3rd. old warmblood with history of chronic cough and nasal discharge, unresponsive to antibiotics. Within 2 weeks of being on Transfer Factor, both the nasal discharge and cough went away. This colt is being maintained on a maintenance dose of Performance and Show." M. Metz, DVM

"2 year old thoroughbred filly with history of multiple bone pain and suspected neurological condition. This filly was diagnosed with physitis in multiple bones (via bone scan) and as a wobbler on radiographs. I placed her on the Stress Pack and Performance and Show to see if she could be improved enough to go into training. The farm has begun breaking her and her movement has improved by approximately 80%. I am waiting to hear if the farm feels she's good enough to go to the track." M. Metz, DVM

"14 year old quarter horse with long history of depression and high eosinophil count. I used Performance and Show on this horse on the presumption that he suffered from some kind of allergy or possible cancer. This horse responded tremendously with his attitude. (i.e. much more energy and enthusiasm) but his blood work has remained unchanged. " M. Metz, DVM

An 8 month old colt with repeated infections and Laminitis; received one Stress Pack and then followed with the Equine Performance and Show. Colt showed some improvement in one week. After 4 weeks the owner stated.."Came out of the barn like a colt, jumping and bucking!" When I initially saw him he could barely walk and hocks were swollen from taking all his weight. Mac Barksdale, DVM

Protocol: one Stress Pack and then followed with the Equine Performance and Show.

"9 yr. old Quarter Horse mare - Annie started colicking on a Sunday - she was suffering from a severe compaction. It became obvious by the second day that we were not dealing with a normal colic. She was showing some neurological signs and her temp would bounce from 96 to 102. Our vet, came out every day to tube her with mineral oil and give her IVs. Her blood test showed her liver and kidney functions were off, as was her blood count. On day 3 her gums were bright fuschia, her pulse was 78 and her capillary refill time was 4 seconds, we thought we were going to lose her. Day 4, she started passing stool, day five she got severe diarrhea. The diarrhea and depression lasted for 5 days. She lost about 200 pounds and her coat turned coarse and dull. She had patches of skin that were sloughing and her extremities were swelling, including her face. All of these were signs that she was fighting something toxic. I started her on Performance and Show and ordered a Stress Pack.

Four days of being on Stress Pack and Performance and Show, she started eating aggressively, jigged to the pasture and her eyes were bright and clear. She has put most of her weight back on. Annie was 30 days pregnant when she colicked, you can't imagine our joy when we did a 65 day ultrasound and saw her fetus doing back flips. We continue to feed Annie Performance and Show throughout her pregnancy. I am convinced that Transfer Factor is helping her body to fight and the probiotics are aiding in the digestion and healing her gut." Lisa Hampton, Trainer

"A case of osteomyelitis of P-2, on numerous antibiotics, footbaths and pain relievers with no success. After two weeks of TF use, we had a 90% sound horse. New hoof growth in five months. I just received a video and owner is riding the horse in light ring work."

LAMENESS IN THE RIGHT HIP : horse 28 years old

  • This horse had been to the University of Davis and many other very good Veterinarians in our state. All the right tests were done and still no one could find the problem. They all said to rest it a year. The owner called me late and complained that this horse was urinating frequently when she saddled it. It was a lesson horse for dressage. The horse would urinate as she was going around the ring. So, we ran a Cushing’s study on her. We found she was Pre-Cushing’s, so we put her on transfer factor forth tumor. She called about one month later and told me that the horse was sound. So, she stopped using the transfer factor and after 2 months, she came back with the horse lame again.
  • She bought the entire equine treatment protocol and in ten days, he was traveling sound again and the Cushing’s syndrome totally gone. This is one of the toughest diseases in veterinary medicine. We are actually able to push this tumor back at the base of the brain. We have app. 20 cases under study right now.
    J. Ramaeker DVM.

Entire treatment protocol is: Give 1 TF Animal stress pack daily 1/2 at the morning feeding and 1/2 at the evening feeding for 1 to 2 weeks along with the TF Performance and Show. The Performance and Show should be continued indefinitely.

"A 19 yr. old late gestation mare with stringhalt, ataxia and moderate ear droop. Began mare on Performance and Show to improve mare's immune function prior to foaling. After 30 days of being on the Performance and Show, this mare had no evidence of stringhalt, ataxia and only a mild ear droop. This is the first time in her life she was able to pull her ear forward in a normal position. She also is cushionoid and suffered miserably in last summer's heat, unable to sweat. This spring, when temperatures reached 80 degrees, she was sweating in the field." M. Metz DVM

" 9 yr. old Friesian gelding developed severe dermatitis in Jan. 2001. The gelding went from being a beautiful black horse with full mane and tail to have huge bald spots all over his body. He lost his entire mane and most of his tail. Our vet, visited twice weekly to do Betadine scrubs and he put Prince on antibiotics. He took biopsies and sent them to 2 universities. He spoke with numerous specialists, but none could tell us what was wrong. Our last resort was to put him on steroids.

His lesions gradually cleared and his hair started to grow back. By the summer of 2001 we were again riding Prince however; it became evident that the steroids were negatively affecting him. He was not holding his weight and became spooky and unpredictable. In the fall of 2001 our vet decided to gradually take him off steroids. Two weeks after he concluded steroid use, a fresh lesion appeared on his face.

His immune system was severely compromised, White Blood Count was 3000 (normal is 15,000). He developed a chronic eye infection and then really got sick. His fever spiked, he became depressed and stopped eating and drinking.

Our vet tried Sulfa drugs and IV's for 3 days. He put him on Naxel, nothing worked. Prince had given up; we were sure he was dying. I came across an article regarding the immune system; it spoke of a product called Transfer Factor. Upon finding an ad for the product, I called my vet and asked him about it. He said, "try it, nothing else is working." I ordered a two week allotment of Stress Pack. We didn't want to commit to more, we had already spent thousands of dollars on Prince, there comes a time where you have to be realistic and say enough is enough. After 10 days on Stress Pack, brightness came back into Prince's eyes which we hadn't seen in months, his appetite increased and he was drinking water again. I called and ordered a bucket of Performance and Show and a Stress Pack because she felt that Prince needed to continue on it.

We put Prince on half the recommended dose of Performance and Show and half a dose of Stress Pack, after 2 weeks his coat started getting glossy again and his appetite returned. Two and a half months later, he is fully recovered! His is playing in the field again, his mane and tail are growing back, his dermatitis is gone, his eyes are bright and clear! It is so awesome to see Prince running across the field kicking up his heels with his pasture pals! I truly believe that Transfer Factor has saved Prince's life."
