Pemphigus Foliaceus
An Auto Immune Problem
KD
LadyBug
Lady
was a filly that I had heard about from another distributor.
Her vet and Texas A&M had given up on her...By the time I went to see her
she had been on steroids for some time and most of the oozing sores and scabs
had disappeared.
Her vet did inform me that sores had covered her entire body. Antibiotics and
medicated soaps couldn't touch it. She was depressed and thin with no muscle
mass. Her coat was dry and dull.
The owner told me she was a beautiful filly at birth with no apparent problems.
Except she never really ran and played the way, a filly should! This all began
at approximately 4 months of age.

DIE OR ARE EUTHANIZED WITHIN ONE YEAR OF DIAGNOSIS"
According
to the attending vet this was an autoimmune problem and
was considered by Texas A & M as incurable… She was
told the filly would have to remain on steroids without them
the muscle wasting and sores would reappear. It was suggested
the filly put down…Long term steroid use would destroy the
horse, she would never be able to breed or ride her the steroids would
destroy her joints and muscles..They suggested she cut her
losses now.
With
the attending vets supervision we weaned her slowly off of
the steroids and started her on a two week course of TF
Animal Stress Pack along with a daily scoop
of the TF Performance
and Show. With in the first 2 weeks the owner
reported their was a difference in her. She become playful
and was gaining her strength back... The first time she was
allowed out with the other horses she ran wide open till she
was soaking wet and has never looked back..
This
is page is written on the 16th day of July 2002 and she has
gone five months with out any medication of any kind. Her owner
tells me she has doubled in size and regained all the muscle
she had lost..
She
is being maintained on the TF
Performance and Show
What
is an autoimmune disease?
It is caused when the body produces antibodies to its own
substances.
The body gets mixed signals and it begins attacking it self.. In Ladybugs case
it was her skin and muscle.
Why
will the TF Performance and Show and the TF Animal Stress Pack
work on an autoimmune problem when all modern medicine has
to offer is damaging steroids and immunosuppressant drugs?
It
is called the suppressor fraction: This fraction down
regulates the immune response when the threat has been defeated.
They are responsible for returning the immune system to a
resting state to await the next threat. These transfer factors
modulate immune system function when reacting to autoimmune
situations where the microbes have "hidden" in specific tissues
and the immune response mistakenly becomes directed toward "self".
The
suppressor fraction will do something no drug in the world
can do! Stop the body from attacking itself, while the other
two fractions build and re-educate the immune system. read

TIPS
Most skin problems in horses can be divided into several basic areas:
- pruritic
(itchy) skin diseases
- hair
loss without itching
- nodules
(lumps)
- loss
of pigment
- sun-induced
damage (photosensitization)
- excess
scaling
Any of these clinical signs can cause loss of function and/or unacceptable
appearance; when they do, it is time to call the veterinarian.
Avoid
the use of steroids/steroidal ointment until you know the problem
is not infectious. The use of steroids can cause infectious
conditions to rapidly spread.
