Livestock Study:
This was done on a random group of calves. The groups were selected based on order entering the feed lot…not on visual examination. Each group consisted of 220 calves, subdivided into three sub groups.
· TF 1 oz per day
· Those given Micotil
· Control group
The TF was drenched on the first day, then top fed for 4 days.
The results were as follows.
The TF group had an Average Daily Gain of 3.63 vs. 2.96 ADG for the Micotil group.
Over a 26 day period, the TF group gained approx. 18 lbs more than the Micotil group in total wt. Gain.
This is very significant in terms of the net return on calves.
This is about economics and reducing antibiotic use in feed cattle. Timing is everything! More details will come when the study is written up.
